We live seven miles from a large Indian casino. Prior to moving close
to the casino I would make a gambling trip about once a month with
friends or relatives. Now that we live so close to the casino these
same friends and relatives stop to visit on the way to the casino. They
often invite me to come along to the casino for a few hours.

It is kind of ironic. Las Vegas is seen as one of those cesspools of

Look at the advertisement photos for the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas and you can not only imagine (or wish) yourself there but can imagine the place filled with classic celebrities.
At least, I can. I see the likes of Elvis—or one of his
characters, like Rick—conversing or conferring in the fabulous indoor
pool room with the welcoming overstuffed chairs and matching
footrests…or better, do one of his classic group songs where he sings
and plays the git while the go-go girls, clad only in fringed two-piece
suits shimmy around him and the shimmering blue pool.

My girlfriend and I enjoy going to Las Vegas together.
We make the trip every year. The first few times we went we stayed at
different hotels along the strip.
One year a travel agent told us that we could get Las Vegas packages for our trip. This would provide us with great savings on our flights, rooms and also meals and entertainment.

Everyone in my family loves cards. None of them have gambling problems,
thank God, but they are all excellent poker players. Not only are they
analytical thinkers, but they are able to keep their cool.
I was raised to believe that a poker face is of the highest value. A
good poker face will get you far in the world, my mother used to tell
me. Unfortunately a poker face is something I could never develop.

I have never been much for gambling. The mere thought of losing my
hard-earned cash at the toss of some dice bums me out. I would be that
irate customer who wants his money back.
Or maybe I would just demand that
